Hello, we are Tyshawn and Destiny! Thank you for choosing to hear our story and learning more about us as prospective parents.

Our story began in college, as 18-year-olds who just so happened to fall in love. We quickly became best friends first through all-nighters and study sessions. Once our friendship was secured the love story took place very easily. Fast forward 8 years later, 2 degrees, and a lot of fun memories we got engaged! As a kid I was a curious, observant, and silly girl! I had a million questions for every room I walked into. I would stay up late at night thinking about all that I had learned that day and writing in my journal.

As an adult that has turned into me staying up late at night grading papers and reflecting on how I can be a better teacher the next day! Education is a very important part of my life, and I knew from a young age that I wanted to shape adolescent minds and share my knowledge with other people....

In retrospect of my adolescent years, I would describe myself as athletic, smart, and outgoing. Math has always been my favorite subject. I have maintained friendships from all walks of life, many of whom I continue to keep in contact to this day.

Unknowingly, playing outside and being heavily involved in sports inspired my passion and career choice of coaching and being a school counselor. I take pride in being a resource in my community and showing positive representation for African American young men. My...

We live in a charming home, in a quiet and peaceful community. We were fortunate enough to not have to make any updates on our home, as it came with all the bells and whistles, except the open-concept kitchen Destiny was hoping for. We’re total foodies and love spending time cooking huge meals and having our family and friends over!

Besides the kitchen, our favorite part of our home is our basement which we’ve turned into our family room. We can’t wait to snuggle on our sofa for movie night...

Our family is huge! Destiny is the youngest of 10, and Tyshawn is in the middle of 4 siblings! We have family all up and down the east coast and love a road trip to see our loved ones! We make it a point to see our Maryland and New York family regularly.

Our house has been the place of gathering for several birthdays, and holidays, although we’ve been known to have Sunday dinners for no reason at all! While the pandemic has put a damper in some of our celebrations, some of the ways we have stayed connected...

Some things that we like to do together are work out, talk (communication is really important to us), go to the beach, go out to dinner, hang with our friends and family, travel, and snuggle while watching Netflix. During the summer we pretty much live outside—where there is water and nature, we are at home! We also host our nieces and nephews for one week each summer!

In the fall, you’ll usually find Ty in front of the TV watching sports, and Destiny in the kitchen cooking a huge pot of whatever...
